Hack For Justice Hackathon

Overview

In honor of George Floyd and the many victims of police killings before him, Hack For Justice organizes local, regional, and global businesses with community organizers and individuals to create innovative products, services, and companies that 1) rebuild destroyed properties, infrastructure, and businesses, and 2) support emotional and mental health during the fallout.

Ideathon

Our partners at NCXT will connect with community members and organizations to understand challenges. NCXT will gather insights from impacted communities and organizers to understand their most pressing needs. Work with organizations to understand key needs and ideate on the solutions. The ideathon is on Thursday, August 13 from 3:00 to 4:30. Sign up for the ideathon at this link.

Ideathon Selection

The judges for this ideathon will consist of community members. Solutions will be voted on with key community members and with the community as a whole via a public poll. This will determine the projects that companies will hack.

Hackathon Rules

The company teams will work together on the resolutions to further develop actionable plans and technical and non-technical solutions. Team leaders will present the hackathon outputs to civic leaders to be considered as urgent, essential reforms and healing actions needed in our communities. The most salient resolutions will be cultivated and implemented via private/public partnerships.
