Hack The Gap in Building Tech

Our goal is to assist more minorities with entry into the building construction and engineering industry by creating a program which allows minorities to learn essential tools and skills to gain a position at the entry level.

Majority of the Architecture firms, construction companies, and engineering organizations lack diversity and representation not because they chose to but because of a lack of resources.

The AIA ( American institute of Architects) Minnesota directory list shows about  200 plus architectural firms in the Twin Cities. And a wide range of other organizations that utilize drafting software to produce various types of project documents.

Primarily most of the firms and organizations use the following software:

  • Autodesk AutoCAD

  • Autodesk Revit

  • Sketch Up

  • ArchiCAD

  • Microstation

What we intended to do is create a program with a curriculum that focuses on AutoCAD and Revit training. Proficiency in these tools is required to meet industry entry position standards.

The entry level salary for a typical drafting position is between $33k to $50k.
